Built in 1926, the Hales Warehouse originally served as offices and warehouses for the Hale Brother's Department Stores, one of the city's first premier retailers. The original structure was designed by the Reid Brothers architects, renowned for such buildings as the Fairmont Hotel and the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.
The historic building was converted into 52 light-filled residential and live/work lofts in 2000 by Martin Building Company and features a restored facade, 11'-6 ceilings; acid-stained concrete floors, gourmet kitchens, distinct steel/glass sliding wall panels, a roof deck with fitness center.
